Radical West USA in association with Radical Ventures has announced the schedule for 2011 edition of the Radical Cup. Visiting some of the premier race facilities in the western U.S.A, the upcoming season will feature 12 races via six doubleheader weekends.
Giving Radical sports car owners a competitive and fun environment in which to race, the west coast-based Radical Cup will again feature some premier tracks and events in 2011. The season will get underway in early March with a trip to the wine region of northern California, with Rounds One and Two at Infineon Raceway. Following a month-long layoff, the action resumes in May at Thunderhill Raceway Park, which also features a endurance race open to series competitors. Rounds Five and Six feature the always challenging Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Next up in late August is a trip to Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. The 2011 campaign concludes with a pair events on modified oval courses, with the Radical cars stretching their legs on the banks of the Auto Club Speedway in Fountain, Calif., and the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
As in years past, each event will feature plenty of track time, with upwards of 100 minutes a day. Giving further value to the competitors, racers can take passengers in their Radicals in non-race sessions.
In addition to bragging rights and the championship trophy, various prizes will be up grabs through the season.
Series officials have also indicated that the inclusion of other sports racers, such as C Sports Racing and D Sports Racing entries, in a non-championship role, is being evaluated.
